Variety coming from Maella, city of the Aragon of Catalan language near of Batea. It has characteristics very similar to the Bourjassot Blanca.
The dry figs of Maella were during a lot of years more famous and appreciated than those of Fraga. They are named by Cervantes.
One crop variety. Tree of important growth, that it is necessary to control to improve the quality of its fruits. It bears the low temperatures.
Greenish white fruit of hard skin. Fruit of exquisite sweetness, red and aromatic flesh. Although mainly it is used to dry, it is one of the best for fresh.
It starts to pick up in the middle of August.
In warm autumns, the figs they achieve to ripen until end October.
